Improvised Independant Filming Workshop
Join us at the Saronikos International Festival of Creative Arts (SIFCA) for a dynamic and hands-on workshop on improvised independent filming. SIFCA is a vibrant platform celebrating the diversity of craft and technical skills that come together within the film and TV industry to create the magic we see on screen.
Workshop Schedule:
Day 1: September 21 - DEVELOPMENT
2:30 PM - 3:15 PM: Welcome and Icebreakers
- Welcome to SIFCA
- Icebreakers to get to know each other
3:15 PM - 4:00 PM: Brainstorming and Concept Development
- Brainstorm short film ideas
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Role Assignment
- Assign roles to each team member
Homework: Make a list of what you love about Saronikos
- Prepare ideas to discuss script development
Day 2: September 23 - PRE-PRODUCTION
2:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Script and Storyboard Creation
- Craft the script
- Develop the storyboard
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Filming Preparation
- Discuss locations and filming logistics
- Review roles and scenes
Homework: Start Filming B Roll
- Begin filming at various locations around Saronikos
Day 3: September 24 - PRODUCTION
2:30 PM - 3:15 PM: Review
- Go through the footage and list outstanding shots
3:15 PM - 5:00 PM: Continue Filming
- Continue capturing scenes to complete the short film
Homework: Shot Lists
- Go through your footage and pick your favourite takes
Day 4: September 25 - POST-PRODUCTION
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Begin Editing
- Start piecing together the footage
3:30 PM - 5:00 PM: Post Production
- Discuss music, sound effects, and special effects
Day 5: September 26 - SCREENING
8:00 PM: Premiere of the Short Films
- Gather for the screening of the short film
- Reflect on the experience and celebrate the achievements
